  In addition to the other 4 reviews I will only mention 3 important details:
  
  These boots are made in Portugal--having seen/owned ECCO shoes made in a variety of countries, Portugal rules;
  The lower part of the sole is real rubber--better adherence on ice, slower wear and tear, natural elasticity;
  The leather is Gore-Tex treated--outstanding moisture management.
  
  Everything else being as stated by the other reviewers, entrust your feet to these boots!Fit like glovesIt snowed a lot this winter here and I was shopping for a pair of water proof boots. I tried some Timberland and other brands and when I tried this boots, they fit me like a custom glove. It was so comfortable and light. Not as warm as I thought but very comfortable and water proof boots!City chukasWearing size 13 narrow, I'm not easy to please and am lucky to find 13 normal.
  Ecco GTX is 13 normal but fits fine wearing winter socks + can wiggle toes. Have had 'em a month and zero problems so far as they are precisely as I'd hope they'd be. Flexible, sturdy yet not mountain heavy. Dark enough for office wear and superb for snowy conditions (we're at start of 5 Feb. blizzard as I type here in D.C.#. Bought 'em because sturdy Rockport office shoes are too slippery on snow/ice #e.g., subway platform smeared with de-ice chemical) but the Ecco GTX are much safer on same surfaces. Got what I sought.Great BootsThey are comfortable and Ecco has always been a reliable brand. A great winter everything shoe. I love them.Built like a tank (in a good way ;-)Wore these boots all through last winter in Canada...this is a solid very well made winter shoe, has great traction, reasonable weight, water proof and warm - it actually felt warm and comfortable with thin cotton dress socks. My other winter boots are Timberland chukkas that I've been wearing since 1995, if you can believe it, so these Eccos had to live up to a pretty high standard, and I fully expect them to also last me many years, with reasonable (ie not every day, beating-shoes-to-death) wear. This long life expectancy is an important factor to consider when you think of the price you pay.
  
  I would have preferred them to be just a bit wider though. The low rise version of this shoe ECCO Men's Country Moc Toe Oxford is excellent as well and can be loosened up a bit more - they would be a perfect complement to these boots. You can wear the boots on very cold days when there's lots of snow and the low rise shoe on warmer days or when spending most of the time indoors.
  
  They also come in nubuck, but you definitely want to get the leather ones. Let's face it, nubuck is very difficult to clean, and with leather all the dirt, mud and salt just wipes away with a wet sponge.
