Currently, it is expensive and time consuming for public health entities to test candy (and other consumer products) that has entered the consumer market in the United States. The XRF, on the other hand, provides a quick, economical, and easy method to test lead levels. It has been demonstrated in a variety of studies that x-ray fluorescence (XRF) can be used for testing lead levels in paint, soil, and testing in-vivo for bone. What has not been studied is the XRF's ability to test for lead in certain consumer items such as candy. This research was designed to identify XRF candy testing techniques that provide a quick and accurate testing method for testing candy wrappers. If public health entities had access to XRF technology they could quickly determine if specific candies contain lead. To date, there has not been a protocol developed using the XRF instrument to test candy wrappers for lead. This study identifies which newly developed XRF procedures are the most effective for testing candy wrappers for lead.

I was going to use them for cake pops/cake balls as favors for my son's first birthday, but we ended up only being able to open about 10 of these bags... after 15 minutes of trying.     Perfect for my homemade Brownie Pops!

    I already had several of these bags; I purchased them a few years back and they opened easily. I needed more for Valentine Brownie Pops, I was making for my Grandsons' classroom party, and picked up a new package at Hobby Lobby.I agree; the new bags aren't the easiest to open. Make sure to watch how you take the bags out of the package, because they are packaged with the open end up. Grasp the bag at the side edge, near the very top, between your thumb and index finger, and then rub your thumb and finger together until the top separates and opens.These bags give your homemade goodies that professional look. I could not believe how many Moms asked me where I bought the Brownie Pops; which were dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with Wilton's Micro Heart sprinkles. I put them in the bags and tied them closed with a red bow.     What can I say. I like making candy, I hated wrapping candy. These wrappers work much better then other things I have tried. They are worth a few extra bucks because the actually stay twisted around the candy.     Great time saver

    I make approximately 2,000 home made caramels each Christmas. One of the biggest time hogs has been cutting parchment paper in 5" x 5" squares only ot have them tear, rip or otherwiese come undone. These wrappers work great and save us a ton of time. 5/5 W.
