    Halloween Costume Ideas for Foodies

People don't understand why Halloween is such a stressful time for foodies. The treats are easy: you pick out a couple or fifteen pumpkin desserts, coat some apples with gooey homemade caramel, and pick up some artisanal versions of classic Halloween candies. The tricky part is finding a costume that speaks to your culinary passions. You could put some holes in your best white tablecloth and go as a "ghost-tronome" again this year, but nice linen is expensive. Don't worry, we have you covered like a teenager's neighbor's house in eggs and toilet paper.

    1. Zombie Andrew Zimmern - Anyone who has seen Bizarre Foods is already aware of the host's proclivity for brains. All you need is a bald cap, some green and gray makeup, and a Bizzare Foods t-shirt.
    2. Werewolfgang Puck - Did you know the Austrian chef once made a cameo appearance on Tales from the Crypt? Grow out your nails and facial hair and go howling for innovative wood-burning oven pizzas.
    3. Ghoulia Child - This ghastly verison of your favorite cookbook author and tv personality requires a simple solid color blouse, wool skirt, some pearls, and a little green face paint--then go out and teach the world about Mastering the Art of French Spooking.
    4. Malice Waters - Why would the world-renowned chef walk around with a butcher knife and crazed gaze? Maybe she just cracked trying to come up with more delicious ideas for fresh seasonal produce. Cut your hair short, grab a prop knife, and teach your guests the mantra of Chez Pain-isse.
    5. Super Mario Bat Ali - Maybe you're a foodie who also loves Nintendo, vampires, and world heavyweight boxing champions? This is your chance to combine them all. Die your hair and mustache red, wear some plumber's coveralls, cut some black wings out of cardboard, put on some boxing gloves, and--the crowning touch--a pair of Crocs.
    6. Iron Chef (the show)- The local costume shops are going to be overstocked with Iron Man 2 costumes. Buy one, put it on, and walk around with a box of sweet potatoes. Bonus points if you also carry a photo of frequent Iron Chef judge Andrew Knowlton.7. Count Chocula - Vampires are still very in this year, and no vampire loves cereal as much as General Mills' eeriest mascot. Interestingly, this is a costume you don't have to make.8. Tuna Avatartare - Part raw fish, part Na'vi. I have no suggestions on how to pull this off, but please let me know if you figure it out. It probably requires blueish makeup. Warning: People might mistake your costume for Tartare Binks.

I recommend checking out foodlebrities.com for many more ideas.
